Historic Shaker Meeting House

This original Shaker Meeting House lost a lot of its historic integrity over the years. Our focus for the entire project was to keep the building true to its roots. Its structure was compromised by rotted boards and support beams and the signature clapboard siding had been bricked over. OSR removed the bricks from the exterior and replaced siding and cove molding, added custom windows, traditional Shaker-style curved soffits, and duplicated the iron hand rails. OSR's in-house wood worker created the beautiful, handmade oak doors for the facade. The renovation adhered to the building's history as a place of worship, was a great collaboration between OSR and all parties involved, and won an APWA Project of the Year award.
